Trial in Algeria for tomatoes growing in green houses , confirm that the buried diffuser is the top efficient irrigation technology and drought mitigation
The trial was held in the suburb of Algiers (Algeria), during 2014/2015, in 2 green houses with tomatoes (one green house is irrigated with drip irrigation with and without mulch plastic film, and the second with buried diffusers), the collected data on water consumption and yield shows the superiority of the buried diffuser :

– The yield of 680 tomatoes plants irrigated with buried diffuser with 100% of water requirements, represents:

o 2.8 times the yield of drip irrigation with mulch film and 100% of the water requirements o 1.9 times the yield of drip irrigation without mulch film and 100% of the water requirements,

 The yield of 680 tomatoes plants irrigated with buried diffuser with 50% of water requirements, represents:
o 2 times the yield of drip irrigation with mulch film and 50% of the water requirements ,
o 2.45 times the yield of drip irrigation without mulch film and 50% of the water requirements
